This year, we had a short season. 7 games. 2 wins, 1 tie and 4 losses. But that means nothing, because 20 students, from Grade 9 to 12, were playing lacrosse here, in Stanstead, with passion and determination, and they faced schools that have had lacrosse programs for over 150 years at Westmount, and 89 years for Brebeuf. That requires a lot of courage and a lot of humility. Guys, you are pioneers, and pioneers are the kind of people who change and improve our world.

Athlete of the week: Tanner Tarbell
This lacrosse player is a quiet leader who commands respect on the field from not only his teammates, but from opposing teams as well. A Grade 12 student from Akwesasne, Ont., Tanner is a nightmare for goalies because of the incredible velocity and accuracy of his shots. He is a high-level lacrosse player who scored 16(!) of the team’s 21 goals in four games at the recent Peterborough tournament. Congratulations, Tanner!
