The curling program continued to expand this season. We had a record number of students try out for the sport, which resulted in our biggest team yet. Beginners mode steady progress as the season continued. Notable season highlights included Coco Li being recognized as Athlete of the Week for her successful game against BCS early in the season. Also, Katya Li was given the Sportsmanship Award for her persistent enthusiasm and Morgan Ireland received her second consecutive Senior S. Finally, the SC Curling program awarded its first-ever Major S Sweater to Yeming Cheng for his fabulous season. We are sorry to see several of our top players graduate, but encourage them to continue to curl in their future. We hope the team had as much fun curling this winter as we did.

Athlete of the week: Coco Li
For a couple of years now the Curling Team has dreaded playing against BCS, looking up to them as if they were infallible. But this past week our skip, Coco Li, willed us to one the biggest wins our team has ever had. She had to make all the right decisions for the entire game, knowing that one bad call could jeopardize the entire end. And under mounting pressure, with her opponents storming back from a 6-2 deficit, Coco was a rock. There was not one call that she made that her coaches did not agree with. And to top it all off, she made the final, amazing clutch shot in overtime that ultimately guaranteed her team the win. For her poise, her leadership and her execution under pressure, Coco Li is Co-Athlete of the Week!
