The 2016 Golf season came and went very quickly, and although short, was very successful. The SC team won all four tournaments taking medalist honours in three of the four. John Wood Downey is to be congratulated on winning the first two (at Milby and Old Lennoxville), and Anna Thinphang nga soundly won the championship in (owansville. We hod a very strong and deep team with multiple players to draw on. Congratulations to all 18 of you; each and every one of you improved your game over the course of the season and you should all be proud of mastering a game that will last you a lifetime. Awards this season were presented to both John and Anna. In his fourth year on the team, it was nice to see how John has matured as a golfer, and has come to appreciate the true value of the game. He has the potential to do very well in the sport of golf, so watch out for this guy on the PGA tour sometime in the next 10 years. Anna has a handicap as soon as the tournament starts as she does not get to play against girls nor from the women's tees. She plays from the same tees as the boys, competes against the boys, and, yes, wins against the boys. She is a pleasure to coach - always positive and upbeat, and always willing to work hard. Anna has been advised by many (pros included) that she should seriously consider golf in her future. Watch for her on the LPGA tour. Finally, the sportsmanship award went to four year golfer Connor Fletcher. He has been a part of the team for four years, and while not always at the top, he has been a contributor to team scores for all four years. Special thanks to Logan Vanasse and Mike Fowlis for helping with the team.
