(From the Stanstead College yearbook)
I must say that comparing to the other teams this season, I felt a twinge of disappointment in how my team had fared. And then I thought about all of the positives that happened over the course of our season, and how each player improved at least one aspect of their game: Alex Campbell making his first par; Amousse making his first birdie; Charles breaking 100 for the first time in a tournament. My disappointment was gone. While winning is nice, sometimes the little things in life are more important. I am proud of every one of you and hope that you all enjoyed your season. You played well, you all worked to improve your game, and you all learned something. Some learned humility, some learned that frustration and anger do not belong on the golf course, and some learned life lessons. And some simply learned that it is not a good thing to eat too much at Wood's. But I think you all learned that while golf is challenging, it is also something that you can play and enjoy for decades to come. At our tournaments, you were good competitors, you all challenged yourselves, you were a lady and gentlemen on the course and you represented your school with class and with true Spartan spirit. You have all developed a passion for the game and I sincerely hope that you all continue to play.
