(From the Stanstead College yearbook)
This year we had 46 players over four teams. Mr. Philip and I had students who had never played softball before, returning students and others who play softball outside of school. What I enjoyed the most about coaching softball was watching more experienced players coaching the less experienced players.
I would like to thank the captains, Thomas, Andrew, Nic, Ariane, Antoine, Jordyn, Jeanne, and Morie-Ange for their work this season. Without them things would not have ran as smoothly as they did. Secondly, I would like to thank all the players for not complaining too much about running when it was raining, and even when it wasn't. Thirdly, I would like to thank Alla for keeping control of the softball box, and to the players for returning the equipment without too much hassle.
During the regular season, the teams played 12 games. In 4th place, we have the Expos, with 2 wins and 10 losses, with 57 runs for and 126 runs against. In third place, we have the Cardinals, with 5 wins and 7 losses, 72 runs for, and 77 runs against. In second place were the Royals, with 6 wins and 6 losses. 83 runs for and 103 runs against. In first place were the Blue Joys, with 11 wins and 1 loss, 137 runs for and 43 runs against. Congratulations to the Blue Jays for finishing on top during the regular season.
The standings changed after the playoffs. Congratulations to the Royals for finishing strong and winning their game against the Blue Jays and putting them in first place. Congratulations to the Cardinals for defending their 3rd place standing against the Expos in the consolation. Well done everyone.
I would like to congratulate Antoine, Nic, and Ryan for being the top homerun leaders, as well as Ariane for being the only girl with a homerun.
