(From the Stanstead College yearbook)
Softball has always been a sport that I enjoy playing, coaching and watching others play. Intramural softball is an excellent opportunity for students to be active, have fun and learn the game. This year we had 59 players over 4 teams: the Expos, Royals, Blue Jays, and Cardinals. Ms. Benizri and I had students who had never played softball before, returning students from last year, and others who play softball outside of school. What I enjoyed the most about coaching softball was watching the more experienced players coach the less experienced players. I will always remember the little things: the exhilaration of someone scoring a home run, the frustration when someone struck out again, and the arguing with calls. I will also remember the funny things, most notably, Roy, who received the most original hour ever for not swinging when up to bat, and Andrew for getting hit with the ball two times in the same game. During the regular season, the teams played 15 games. In 4th place, we have the Cardinals, with 1 win and 14 losses. In 3rd place, we have the Royals, with 6 wins and 9 losses. In 2nd place, we have the Expos, with 9 wins and 6 losses. In first place, we have the Blue Jays with 12 wins and 3 losses. This year the standings changed after the playoffs. The Cardinals won their game in the consolation against the Expos to take 3rd place. The BIue Jays defended their title in the finals against the Royals.
