Athlete of the week: Simonetta Gaumond

Simonetta Gaumond is a dominant athlete on the squash team who went undefeated against BCS in the tournament last week. Simonetta joined the team last year and right from the start showed a great sense of determination and a real commitment to her sport. Ranked as the #1 girl on the team, the Grade 11 student from St-Bruno, Que. plays hard and happily competes against the boys during practices. She remains undefeated this year after three tournaments. As a “racquet person,” Simonetta also performs very well during the tennis season. This award is not only a recognition of her dedication but also an encouragement for her to progress to a higher level.
